I am back in LA.  My nephew is doing great.  He is fully recovered from his surgery.

Looking forward to class tonight! If the topic of gentrification is particularly interesting to you, check out this trailer for a documentary called Flag Wars: POV – Flag Wars | PBS. The Documentary is pretty dated, but the themes are still relevant.  (P.S. You are not required to watch the trailer)

I am looking forward to reading your group guidelines that you have come up with. Please prepare those guidelines by responding to #s 4 and 6 on the handout you received last week.

In preparation for tomorrow’s class, I have prepared a quick online activity.  Please take this survey on violence.  All of your answers are anonymous.  I have no way of knowing who supplied each answer.  I will share the results tomorrow in class as we discuss violence in families.

Also, I am still waiting to hear from folks who are participating in tomorrow’s panel.  So far I have heard from Ricky and Lionzo.  Please email me your paragraphs.

I am feeling a lot better.  Spring Break is good for that.  I hope you all had a nice break as well.  In preparation for this weeks class, please have completed the readings from Week 8 (on Love and Relationships) and this week (on Partnerships).

I am unfortunately sick.  Class is cancelled tomorrow (April 15).  I will be grading your midterms over Spring Break, so we can look forward to them in Week 9.

For the panelist who were supposed to go this week, I will be in contact with you so that you can know what to expect.

For everyone else, please continue with the readings on Love (this week) and Partnerships (next week).  Don’t forget that Journal #2 is due the Friday after Spring Break.

The readings for this week have been posted.  I wanted to have an article or 2 reflecting a progressive male and/or masculine theme of love, but I had a hard time finding what I was looking for.  Sorry everyone (especially to the guys in our class); I am not intentionally excluding the male/masculine voice.

Also, several people have emailed me about Journal #2.  Lets go ahead and push the dues date back to April 29 (the Friday after Spring Break).

Finally, don’t forget to go ahead and read “The Darker Shades of Queer” and “Sex in Guyland” if you have not already.  We will be covering them in addition to the readings this week.

For people that are doing their panel, I need your paragraphs please.
